Maglia Francesco are makers of handmade luxury for your hand, specialising in umbrellas and walking sticks for over 165 years.

In 1850, at 14 years old, Francesco Maglia took on an apprenticeship at an umbrella factory. Four years later he became a partner at a small umbrella factory in Verolanuova and later started his own business, relocating to Milan in 1876.

The company has always upheld the philosophy of craftmanship, using only materials in brass, wood and iron. They do not mass produce, and each stage of their production is performed entirely within the Maglia workshop in Milan, Italy.

Traditionally in the Maglia family, one son has always been called Francesco; one of the current owners is the fifth Francesco to run the family company with his brother Giorgio. Giorgio, in turn, called his eldest son Francesco.
